But seriously, it IS funny how even people who defend this shitty music still hold themselves above autotune. Smooth jazz is very mood oriented rather than song oriented, you don't hear a lot of strong or catchy melody lines, it's mostly more of an ongoing groove with solos fading in and out but not in an attention grabbing way. As stated earlier, students of any skill level are invited to join the band. The blues, perhaps more than any other music, is jazz's greatest influence.

Well-known Dixieland jazz musicians include trumpeter Louis Armstrong, pianist Jelly Roll Morton, and trumpeter Bix Beiterbecke. These two approaches to passing on tradition are both valid.
