The teachings of ancient skeptics exercised a deep influence on a number of major Western philosophers, including Aenesidemus (1st century B. The Council of Constance, 1414–1418, deposed two rival Popes (by then there were three, one of whom resigned) and elected a new Pope. Like philosophy, most religious studies are not experimental.
