Becker, Jürgen (1932–) Becker has spent most of his life in Cologne, where he has been employed in radio play supervision. His early prose writings (Felder (1964), Ränder (1968) and Umgebungen (1970)) draw on Joyce and Helmut Heißenbüttel to challenge the traditional novel with its emphasis on plot and character.
