Cauthers, Wes, MA, LMHC

Specialties:
Faith/Religious Transitions
Relationship Issues
Depression
Anxiety

About:
I view the counseling process as forming an alliance with you to explore the nature of your struggles. Although we will spend much time dealing with the specific issues that brought you into counseling, we will also look at the nature of your relationships with the significant people in your life as well. According to my theoretical orientation, many of the forces and dynamics that have influenced the complexity and intensity of your struggles are rooted in relational issues. I believe you are made to relate in a satisfying and self-giving manner, and this is likely both the source of your greatest joy but also of your deepest problems. Thus, we will explore how your relational style interferes with the enjoyment for which you are made. This is also meant to give you hope, that by dealing with the source of the problem we will address the constellation of symptoms as well. I believe that some issues can have a physical component; in such cases, medical consultation will be advised.

You will be charged for a missed appointment if you have failed to notify me within 24 business hours of our scheduled time (illness and emergencies excepted). I can provide you a receipt for reimbursement but you are responsible for obtaining and filling out any appropriate paperwork and submitting it to the insurance company.

Joshua Neal

Joshua Neal, MA, LMHCA

About:
Leaving Mormonism can be overwhelming, freeing, and disorienting all at the same time. You may want to just run and play with everyone else, but find it painful and challenging in a new world where nobody seems to understand. The longer you were in The Church, the deeper the wounds you carry may be. Faith transitions out of Mormonism often come with family conflict, loss of community, profound loss of purpose and identity, and consequent suffering and grief. You are not alone. I provide person-centered counseling services designed to explore existence and identity. I offer resources and tips for building new community and navigating familial and partner conflict, as well as grief counseling to deal with the pain and loss that is unique to you. Your story, and your journey matters.

Jenny Morrow

Morrow, Jenny, MS, LMFT

Specialties:

      • Faith/Religious Transitions
      • Depression
      • Anxiety
      • Relationship Issues
      • Trauma/PTSD

About:
As humans we’re wired with a desire and need to connect to our own potential and to others.   While we all experience pain, loss, and moments of rejection, a religious transition can strike at our deepest fears.  Fears of death, being seen as unacceptable, having no way to cope with emotional upset, being rejected by your tribe/family, and the inability to find joy, purpose, and meaning.   While the transition can be an enlivening experience that brings out one’s greatest potential, it can be invaluable to reach out for resources along the way.  The grieving process includes the faces of depression, bargaining, and anger, and while those phases are all a part of the process, we can get stuck, unable to move on.

I have been assisting clients for over 7 years in their desires for greater emotional, mental and relational health.  I use a blend of therapy models and techniques that focus on using the thoughts, emotions, and body as a way to gather information about the present needs.  In accessing what it is we truly need, emotionally, mentally, and physically, we are able to transition from unhealthy patterns, including unhealthy thinking and religious patterns, to living and meeting our needs in a more healthy and fulfilling way.  This leaves us available to be more open, loving and creative…in our families, our work, and our communities. www.askanexmormontherapist.com
